About MOUVE
MOUVE® by Dancing with Louise is a children's dance school based at St Mary's and St John's CE School in Hendon, North London, founded by Louise Leach over 25 years ago. We teach ballet, hip hop, street dance, contemporary, jazz, drama, and dance gymnastics to children aged 2 through to teens. MOUVE also runs zumba and dance fitness classes for women in Hendon, Mill Hill, and Hampstead Garden Suburb, and teaches in 20 school clubs across North London. All teachers are DBS-checked and first-aid trained. With over 1,000 students in 80+ weekly classes, MOUVE is one of North London's most trusted performing arts schools. New students can book a free trial class.
Our Classes
Gentle, playful classes where toddlers explore movement, music and rhythm. Parent-accompanied for the youngest, independent for ages 3–4.
See Tots Classes →Ballet, street dance and creative movement in small groups. Our teachers know every child by name and meet them exactly where they are.
See Mini Mouvers →Technique-focused classes in ballet, hip hop, contemporary, jazz, drama and dance gymnastics — with termly performances to show off their progress.
See Junior Mouvers →Challenging, inspiring classes for teens who want to take their dance seriously — or simply keep moving. Street dance, contemporary, and performance opportunities.
See Teen Classes →Our Approach
At MOUVE, we believe how a child feels in class matters as much as what they learn. We call it our Confidence-First Approach — every class is designed so children feel seen, supported, and proud of what they can do, from their very first lesson.
Our teachers are trained professional dancers — not student instructors. They bring real-world performance experience into every class, and they're warm enough to comfort a nervous three-year-old.
Small class sizes mean your child won't get lost in the crowd. Our teachers learn names on day one and notice when someone needs encouragement, a challenge, or just a smile.
Every teacher is DBS-checked and first-aid trained. MOUVE has been trusted by North London families for over 25 years — and we take that responsibility seriously.
Children don't just learn to dance here — they make friends, gain confidence, and feel part of something. Many of our families have been with us for years because the community keeps them coming back.
Founded by Louise Leach
An ISTD and LAMDA trained dancer who started dancing at age three. Over 25 years, Louise has grown MOUVE from a handful of students to over 1,000 children across 80+ weekly classes and 20 school clubs. Her Confidence-First Approach means every class prioritises how a child feels alongside what they learn.
“They remember each child by name, and even know each child's parents.”— Nigina Nasirova
Every Child Performs
Every year, our students take to the stage at a professional theatre for MOUVE's annual show. It's the highlight of the year — and the moment parents say they truly see their child's confidence shine.
· Professional theatre with real lights, sound, and staging
· Every child performs, from age 2 to teens
· Costumes, choreography, and months of rehearsal
· Families describe it as their proudest parenting moment
New to MOUVE?
Starting something new can feel like a big step — for children and parents. Here's what to expect.
"My child is shy or nervous"
Our teachers are experienced in welcoming nervous children. We use gentle introductions, buddy systems, and lots of encouragement. Most children are smiling within the first ten minutes.
"They've never danced before"
No experience needed. Every class is designed for mixed abilities, and our teachers help beginners feel confident from the start.
"What should they wear?"
For the first class, comfortable clothes they can move in — leggings, a t-shirt, bare feet or soft shoes. We'll share uniform details after enrolment.
"Can I stay and watch?"
Parents are welcome to stay for the first class. After that, we find children settle better when parents wait nearby — and most parents enjoy the break.
