Where We Teach
About MOUVE
MOUVE by Dancing with Louise offers children's dance classes for ages 2 to 18 at its studio in Hendon, North London. Founded by Louise Leach in 2001, the school teaches ballet, street dance, hip hop, contemporary, jazz, drama, and dance gymnastics across more than 80 weekly classes, serving over 1,000 students every week. Ballet is taught using the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus across 10 progressive levels, from Tots classes for children as young as 18 months through to advanced technique and pointe work. All teachers hold enhanced DBS checks and current first-aid certificates. MOUVE also runs dance clubs in more than 20 North London primary schools, extending access to children who cannot attend studio sessions. The school is based at St Mary's and St John's CE School, Sunningfields Road, Hendon, NW4 4QR.
Classes at MOUVE are grouped by age and stage, ensuring every child works with peers at the same developmental level. Tots classes, for children aged 2 to 4, introduce movement, rhythm, and creative play through structured sessions. Mini-Mouvers (age 5 and above) combine ballet, street dance, and drama in small groups. From age 7, Junior students can take classes across ballet, hip hop, contemporary, jazz, drama, and dance gymnastics, building technique in preparation for the Annual Showcase. The Showcase is held each November at the Artsdepot Theatre in Finchley — a professional 395-seat venue — where over 800 family members and friends attended in 2025. Elite classes, for committed dancers aged 10 and above, provide intensive training designed for students who wish to progress to professional or higher-education programmes in performing arts.
MOUVE was founded in 2001 by Louise Leach, an ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) and LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) qualified dance teacher who appeared on the first series of ITV's Popstars the same year. Under her direction, the school has grown into one of North London's largest independent performing arts schools, teaching more than 1,000 students each week. Every teacher holds an enhanced DBS certificate and a current first-aid qualification. Ballet classes follow the Royal Academy of Dance graded syllabus, with students progressing through formal examinations at each stage. The school has a 5.0 rating from over 114 Google reviews. Louise personally teaches MOUVEit! ladies fitness classes five days a week across venues in Hendon and Hampstead Garden Suburb.
