MOUVE students performing under professional theatre lighting at the Artsdepot

The MOUVE Annual Showcase

Watch Your Child Shine on a Real Theatre Stage

Every year, MOUVE students perform at the Artsdepot Theatre in Finchley — a professional 395-seat venue with full stage lighting, sound, and backstage facilities. From our youngest Tots to our Elite performers, every child gets their moment in the spotlight in front of an audience of over 800 family members and friends. The Annual Showcase is the highlight of the MOUVE calendar — the moment weeks of rehearsal become a memory families treasure for years. Led by founder Louise Leach, our shows feature original choreography across ballet, hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre, drama, and dance gymnastics.

The Show

What Is the MOUVE Annual Showcase?

The Annual Showcase is MOUVE’s end-of-year production — a full-scale theatre show where every student, from age 2 upwards, performs on a professional stage. It’s not a school hall recital. It’s a real theatre, real lighting, real costumes, and a packed audience of families who came to see their children do something extraordinary.

A Real Theatre

Performed at the Artsdepot in Finchley — a purpose-built 395-seat theatre with professional lighting, sound, and backstage facilities.

Every Child on Stage

From our youngest Tots classes to our Elite performers, every MOUVE student has a role. Nobody watches from the wings.

Original Choreography

Every routine is choreographed specifically for the show by our teaching team. No recycled routines — fresh, original work every year.

A Themed Production

Each year has a unifying theme — from ‘Dancing Through the Decades’ to musicals and movie soundtracks. It’s a show, not just a sequence of dances.

Why It Matters

What Does Performing on Stage Give Your Child?

Confidence That Lasts

Standing on a real stage in front of hundreds of people is a defining moment. Children carry that feeling — “I did it” — into school, friendships, and everything else.

A Goal to Work Towards

Knowing there’s a show at the end of the year gives every weekly class a purpose. Children push themselves harder when they know the stage is waiting.

Teamwork and Belonging

Learning a group routine, hitting their marks, supporting each other backstage — the show teaches children what it means to be part of something bigger.

Stage Presence and Resilience

Performing live means handling nerves, adapting in the moment, and recovering from mistakes with a smile. These are life skills disguised as dance.

Memories for the Whole Family

Parents, grandparents, siblings — everyone is in the audience. The pride of watching your child perform on a professional stage is a moment you don’t forget.

A Professional Experience

Backstage passes, dressing rooms, stage lighting, curtain calls — children experience what it’s like to be a real performer, not just a student.

The Production

More Than a Recital — a Full Theatre Production

Our shows are produced to a professional standard. Louise Leach personally oversees every detail — from choreography and music selection to costumes, lighting design, and running order. The result is a show that surprises parents every single year.

How Your Child Gets to the Stage

01

Join a Class

Your child starts in a weekly MOUVE class — any style, any age group. Every class participates in the show.

02

Learn the Routine

In the weeks leading up to the show, each class learns their showcase routine during regular lesson time. No extra sessions needed.

03

Rehearse at the Theatre

A full dress rehearsal at the Artsdepot gives children a chance to experience the stage, the lights, and the backstage before show day.

04

Take the Stage

Show day. Costumes on, lights up, audience packed. Your child performs on a professional stage — and you’ll be in the audience bursting with pride.

What Parents Say

The Moment That Makes It All Worth It

They are incredibly professional, exceptionally well-organised, and the music is always spot-on. What really sets them apart is the personal touch — they remember each child by name, and even know each child’s parents!
